How I've Tended my Soil
As a Licensed Therapist I am constantly growing and believe learning never stops. I am trained in the use of mind-body skills techniques and added the title of certified case manager to the skill set I possess. Throughout my career I have worked in various capacities as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Some of my most memorable positions have allowed me to work with parents, assisting them with understanding and learning the skills needed to bond and meet the emotional needs of their children. I've worked with youth involved with the juvenile justice system, teaching both mood management and life skills. I have also worked with college students and older adults providing support as they've sought to navigate the challenges related to life transitions.
The Seeds of my Experience
I am a native daughter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and continued on there completing a Master of Arts Degree in Community Counseling in 2007. I have worked in a number of areas including working with families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), supportive housing, disaster aid and relief case management, higher education, Coordinated Systems of Care, Managed Care and the Office of Juvenile Justice.
Through this work I have gained experienced working with individuals, families and groups.
